There is a void of engaging, scientific and multifaceted toys and plushies out there and I want to add my drop to the bucket! Cicada Shell Backpack
The Cicada Shell Backpack. Inspired by stories of kids hooking cicada shells to their clothes, I wanted to recreate a bit of that magic with this backpack. The backpack contains three zipper compartments along the abdomen.
The Pitcher Plant backpack. Inspired by actual Nepenthes plants I grow in my greenhouse. These backpacks contain hidden zipper pockets tucked behind the plant’s frills and also contains a caterpillar pencil case.
The Schrodinger’s Cat Mystery Box. This plushie is a play on the Schrodinger’s Cat quantum thought experiment. In the box is either a dead cat or living cat both printed with images of the Hubble Deep Field. You won’t know what plushie is in the box until you open it. There’s also a 10% chance your cat will be a “Quantum” cat which is neither dead nor alive, but exists in a perpetual state of “what ifs”
The Molting Cicada Plushie. This was my first plushie design and the one that sparked this entire side business. The molting cicada plushie comes as a cicada nymph with a zipper on the back. Inside the nymph is an adult cicada that can be removed. Its a two in one plushie combo!
